Spring, Spring, Spring

Creation Center
The creation center is up and going. Our class was blessed by a large donation of materials, such as stickers, paper, ribbons, buttons, stencils and stampers. Using their creative minds, the children went to work coming up with different ideas to craft and make. These types of projects help the children with their fine motor skills, increase their imagination, try new things, spacial awareness, build their confidence, think outside of the box by using the materials for different projects, and use their social skills.

A scissor holder, to hold the scissors.

I made a person!

Creative Building
We has some building going on during center time. These projects work on their fine motor skills, sharing with friends, decision making, math skills, and team work.

What can you make with triangles?
Using the triangle shape to make different patterns and shapes. They were working on math skills such as sorting, group, measuring, and counting.

Making patterns!

Chapel with Pastor Will from Mount Calvary
We learned about our yellow ribbon.  Yellow represents the promise that God has for us in heaven. God has prepared a home for us with him.

Pattern Pigs!

Alphabet Matching
Using Lego and "cookies" we worked in small groups reviewing and enriching our letter skills. We found the matches of lower and upper case letters, made letter sounds, and brainstormed words that start with letters they found.

Spring Words
During morning center time, we worked on sharpening our letter skills by using letter stickers to spell spring words from our word books. Introducing different fonts of the letters help the children with their letter recognition and understanding that the letter my look a little different, but it is still the same letter.

Friends help each other when they can't find the letter. I love the team work.

CCLS Preschool Family Night
Students with parents, siblings, and friends, put together their own set of resurrection eggs to tell the story of Jesus dying on the cross and rising from the dead on Easter Sunday.

Measuring with gummy worms?
With the help of gummy worms the children worked on their estimation, counting and number writing skills.

How many gummy worms tall is a book?

How many gummy worms long is our chair?

How many gummy worms long is your foot?

How many gummy worms long is a pencil?

How many gummy worms long is a block?

How many gummy worms tall is Mr. Barry?
The class guessed 100, but when we counted them up he was only 44 gummy worms tall.
